No doubt, 2024 brought its share of challenges (lawsuits, form changes, low inventory, high interest rates, etc.) and opportunities (agents leaving the business, eager buyers & sellers, etc.), but as real estate professionals, we know that growth comes from pushing forward, staying authentic, and showing up consistently.

To help you step into 2025 with confidence and clarity, I’ve created this success checklist — a gift from me to you 😉. Whether you’re reflecting on this past year, planning for the next, or looking for ways to level up your business, my hope is that this guide will keep you focused, motivated, and ready to thrive.

  1. Reflect on 2024
    • Celebrate Your Wins: List your top achievements and what made them possible (and celebrate them!).
    • Learn from Challenges: Identify obstacles you faced and the lessons they taught you (do a SWAT analysis).
    • Express Gratitude: Reach out to someone who positively impacted your business this year (call/text/email/handwritten note).

  2. Set Your 2025 Vision
    • Choose Your Guiding Word: Select a word that will define your focus for the year (e.g., Thrive, Focus, Elevate – my word for 2025 is PAUSE – learn more about how to pick your word in my previous post HERE).
    • Define Clear Goals: Establish three specific business objectives (e.g., increase sales volume, enhance personal development, expand your team – DON’T SKIP THIS PART).
    • Visualize Success: Picture what achieving these goals looks and feels like for you (create a vision board and hang it where you can see it every day).

  3. Plan for Action
    • Schedule Business Planning: Set a date to create or review your 2025 business plan (meet with your broker to discuss if you have not done so already).
    • Prioritize Lead Generation: Allocate daily time slots dedicated to lead generation activities (do the work!).
    • Commit to Learning: Decide on a new skill or tool to master that will enhance your real estate expertise.
    • Have a Winning Mindset Every Day: Remind yourself why you’re in this business and approach each day with purpose. Set goals, invest in education, and put motivational ideas into practice daily. This isn’t just a job; it’s your future (mindset REALLY matters).

  4. Strengthen Relationships
    • Reconnect with Clients: Send personalized New Year wishes to past clients (call, text, email, handwritten note).
    • Plan Appreciation Events: Organize two client appreciation events for 2025 (work with your broker; are they planning any events you can get in on?).
    • Referrals Win: Tap into your sphere of influence. Referrals are free and powerful and often come from the best customers — those who already trust you.

  5. Build Trust. Be You.
    • Show Up Authentically: In this business, people buy you. Whether it’s marketing, meetings, or social media, always present your authentic self. Trust grows when you’re genuine, and that’s what earns loyalty.

  6. Focus on Personal Growth

    • Allocate Personal Time: Dedicate weekly time for personal growth activities (DON’T SKIP THIS EITHER) and physical fitness (aka stress reliever).

    • Update Your CRM: Cleanse and update your client relationship management system to start the year fresh (DO THIS QUARTERLY).
    • Optimize Your Workspace: Organize your physical and digital workspaces to boost productivity (declutter!).
    • Refresh Marketing Materials: Ensure all branding elements, including headshots and promotional materials, are current and reflective of your professional image (and are current).
